Subject: Introduction — New Oregon Nonprofit Focused on Tax Foreclosure Prevention
Dear OHCS Homeownership Division Team,
My name is Wyatt, and I'm the founder of AuctionBlock, a newly founded for-profit company based in Corvallis. I'm writing to introduce our organization and ask whether someone on your team might have 20–30 minutes for a phone call or video meeting.
AuctionBlock's mission is tax foreclosure prevention for vulnerable Oregon families — seniors, veterans, people with disabilities, and others who risk losing their homes over delinquent property taxes. Our approach focuses on early intervention: connecting at-risk homeowners with existing assistance programs, tax deferral options, and community resources before their properties reach a tax sale.
We are very early stage. We haven't served any families yet and are currently building our referral network and community partnerships in Benton County. That's part of why I'm reaching out — before we begin operations, I want to make sure our work is informed by and aligned with the state's homeownership priorities.
Specifically, I'd welcome the chance to:
- Learn about OHCS's current priorities for homeownership preservation and foreclosure prevention
- Understand how community-based organizations like ours can best complement state programs
- Ask about any upcoming funding opportunities or technical assistance available to new housing companys in Oregon
I'm not writing to ask for funding — just to introduce ourselves and learn. We want to be a good partner within Oregon's housing ecosystem, not duplicate what already exists.
Our website is www.auctionblock.org if you'd like to learn more. I'm happy to work around your schedule.
Thank you for your time, and for the work OHCS does for Oregon families.
Warm regards, Wyatt Founder, AuctionBlock.org Corvallis, Oregon www.auctionblock.org
