Community Education
& Awareness

AuctionBlock is a mission-driven company. We are not a lobbying organization. We educate homeowners, connect families with existing resources, and raise public awareness about the foreclosure crisis.

Our advocacy work focuses on empowering communities with information — not pushing legislation.

What Our Advocacy Looks Like

We believe informed communities can prevent foreclosures before they start. Our work centers on education, outreach, and connecting people to programs that already exist.

Public Education

We create free educational content explaining how foreclosure works, what programs exist to help homeowners, and when to seek assistance. Most families don't know help is available until it's too late.

Examples:

  • Know Your Rights workshops
  • Plain-language guides to Oregon's tax deferral and exemption programs
  • Foreclosure timeline explainers

Community Outreach

We go where at-risk homeowners are — community centers, churches, senior centers, and local events — to share information about foreclosure prevention resources before a crisis hits.

Examples:

  • Presentations at community organizations
  • Partnerships with senior services and disability organizations
  • Multilingual resource distribution

Resource Connection

We connect homeowners facing foreclosure with existing government programs, legal aid services, and housing counselors who can help them navigate their options.

Examples:

  • Referrals to Oregon's Senior Property Tax Deferral program
  • Connections to legal aid for foreclosure defense
  • Help navigating county payment plan options

Awareness Campaigns

We use social media, local media, and community partnerships to raise awareness about the foreclosure crisis — especially the fact that most affected homeowners qualify for help they've never heard of.

Examples:

  • Foreclosure Awareness Week content series
  • Local media outreach and story pitching
  • Social media education campaigns

What We Don't Do

Transparency matters. Here's what falls outside our mission:

We do not lobby legislators or push for specific legislation
We do not provide legal advice (we refer to licensed attorneys)
We do not endorse or oppose political candidates
Our education and surplus recovery services are open to everyone
We do not make guarantees about foreclosure outcomes
